Cashmere Care

Special things need special care - so does cashmere.

With the right care, your new favourite piece will become a companion for life.

The Cashmere Care collection offers everything you need: a special cashmere shampoo, a pilling shaver as well as a comb, a laundry bag and fragrant cedar woods. All these products are easy to use for your regular cashmere care routine.

01. WASH

Cashmere should not be washed each time it is worn. If possible, air out your cashmere products outside in the fresh air.

Please check the care label on your product before washing. 100% cashmere from Iris von Arnim can be washed cold and inside out at the lowest spin speed (600 rpm) on a wool cycle. Use our special cashmere shampoo. We recommend washing very delicate knitwear that tends to pull threads in a laundry bag.

The easiest way to machine dry cashmere is in the "Wool Finish". You can then place the items on a towel, turn them occasionally and, if necessary, steam them carefully with a steaming iron.

02. CARE

Depending on the yarn, dye and use, so-called "pilling" can occur: Especially in the beginning, the fine cashmere fibers are more likely to form small knots. These are typical for the material and will decrease significantly over time. The quickest way to remove the knots is with a cashmere comb or electric razor.

Our knitting experts advise: For coarse knit structures, such as cable knits, we recommend using our cashmere comb. Our cashmere shaver is ideal for flat and finer knitwear. Make sure the surface is flat when removing the knots.

03. STORE

We recommend storing them flat in a dust bag. Avoid strong pressure so that the fibers are not compressed during storage. The climate should be cool and dry.

Our cedar woods provide natural protection against moths. Place them between the items of clothing in your closet.

Tip: If the scent of the cedar wood fades over time, roughen the sides of the wood slightly to intensify the scent. A file or fine sandpaper is suitable for this purpose.
