Valentin's Letter

Resort 2022

Dear Friends,

When I was little, we could run completely free through the dunes. Mostly hunting for tadpoles, which we proudly carried in a red bucket from the waterhole to the next pond to increase the frog population. It was my childhood paradise. Today the dunes are mostly nature reserves. I hope not all children always respect them.

I still feel just as comfortable on our Nordic beaches. They somehow suit me: rough, diverse, never perfect. Dune grass, countless patterns in the sand, small animals, seaweed, endless shades of colours - very soft and hard at the same time, beautiful, very real. Probably a little like us.

We have managed the last 1.5 years well. We haven't had to lay off any employees, and we are looking for more. Many partners are buying more than they did two years ago - we are talked about and written about more than before.

I am proud of that, of our designers, my mother, the marketing team here on the set, our whole company. We have a lot in common with this beach: somehow tough, somewhat reluctant, very honest and direct, always on the move with a touch of beauty, whether in storm or sunshine.
