A place of inspiration, with a certain nonchalance and typical Nordic straightforwardness and lightness: Iris von Arnim has been deeply connected to Sylt for decades.
It was here that Iris von Arnim celebrated her first successes as a designer at the end of the 1970s. Since 1998, Kampen has been home to the luxury knitwear label‘s first own store. The special attitude to life on the North Sea Island is reflected in the collection for Fall /Winter 2024.
The collection explores the effortless elegance of the designer‘s favourite places, the endless dunes and the rather rugged beach. Long walks in the island‘s fresh air give her a chance to relax, recharge her batteries and find inspiration for new designs.
THE ICON: FALLOU
FALLOU is one of our all-time favourites and is reissued every collection in the season’s colours. The sweater with a stand-up collar, 3/4 sleeves and a casual fit is made in Italy from 100% cashmere with a half-cardigan structure
CASHMERE PEPITA
Exclusively created for Iris von Arnim: Our Cashmere Pepita. This exceptional material, originally designed as a scarf, is available in the colours of the current collection. Cashmere Pepita has a particularly light and flowing structure and is made from 100% cashmere. Available in this collection as a matching tone-on-tone ensemble consisting of the shirt PORTO and the trousers PAROS.
THE RAINBOW SWEATER
Knitwear in rainbow colours is a recurring theme in Iris von Arnim’s life. It all started with the rainbow sweater. Over the years, the beloved original design has been recreated in new variations and colour combinations. In the Pre Fall 2024 Collection, the iconic sweater is given a new interpretation as a pastel rainbow made from a cashmere-silk blend in Blue-Alabaster-Rose degradé.
DOUBLE KNIT
The term doubleface is French and means double-sided. This processing technique involves using special knitting machines, which have two ‘knitting beds’: two parts are knitted at the same time and connected with an invisible Lycra thread – as a result, both sides of the fabric have the same surface structure. Depending on how the seams are finished, double-faced knitwear may be worn from both sides. Doubleface knit has a very comfortable stability, providing a great fit and a tailored look. Our doubleface knitwear is made from finest, single-thread cashmere.
